Morocco, what to do and what to see


MotoTouring organizes tours in Africa since 1985 and Morocco has been one of the very first destination at that time: the country has not changed a lot, some very good hotels have been built in the meanwhile and we will use them, of course!!. The riding is spectacular like the landscapes and the local people, always very friendly and helpful in case of needs, it will be a memorable tour remaining in your mind for the rest of your life.

Day 1 - Málaga.
Day of arrival in Málaga and meeting at the Parador de Golf, jet lag recoup afternoon. Welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 - Málaga - Rabat.
Pick-up motorcycles ride west to 150 km to Tarifa, ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangiers, Morocco. Ride 280 km to Rabat on back roads and highways through the beautiful maroccans landscapes. (420km/250mi).

Day 3 - Rabat - Safi - Marrakech.
Ride south along the Atlantic Ocean coast stopping for a great fish & oysters lunch and continuing then to Marrakech and arriving by late afternoon. Dinner in a typical restaurant. (450 km /280mi).

Day 4 - Marrakech.
Visit Marrakech; see tombs of ancient Moroccan Rais; explore the souk and Jema El Fnaa Square. Overnight and dinner at hotel.

Day 5 - Marrakech - Ouarzazate - El Kelaa de Mgouna.
Fantastic ride up to Tizi'n Tichka Pass at 2260 mt over the serpentine Atlas Mountains then to Ouarzazate and El Kelaa des Mgouna through the Dades Valley . Dinner at the hotel (300 km/190 mi).

Day 6 - El Kelaa - Merzouga.
Explore the Dades Valley and Todrha Valley, after lunch ride southeast to Erfoud, heading into the Erg Chebbi desert to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight in a nice, typical hotel by the dunes. Camel ride at sunset and dinner with local food (mechui, the sheep local way cooking) accompanied by local dancers. (300km/190mi) ).

Day 7 - Merzouga - Fes.
Early morning departure and mountain riding to Fes, over the 2700 meter passes, Fes is one of the Imperial cities and a magical place just like Marrakech. Overnight at the Palais Jamai Hotel, an old king residence in the Medina. Dinner at the hotel. Try the 'Turkish Bath' and the massage at the hotel! (350km/220mi

Day 8 - Fes.
Day of relax and visits in Fes.

Day 9 - Fes - Málaga.
Last day of a long and beautiful ride north to Chefchaouen across the Rif Range on to Tanger, clear Customs in Morocco, and cross the Straights of Gibraltar back to Tarifa then head back to Málaga passing close by the Rock of Gibraltar. Overnight at the Parador de Golf; farewell dinner at hotel. (480km/300mi).

Day 10 - Málaga.
Transfer to Malaga airport for flights back home.

Aït Ben Haddou
Fortified town (Ksar) on the caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Built between a hillside and river Ouarzazate. Listed by UNESCO as World Heritage and used as a set of famous movies as Lawrence of Arabia and The Gladiator.
